USB Device Not Recognized On Windows – How I Fixed IT

3G HSUPA HSDPA Modem Dongle USB Device Not Recognized On Windows How I Fixed IT
Today, i switch on my Windows 7 laptop, inserted my USB Modem/dongle, to my surprise, i was greeted with a USB Device Not Recognized error message. then I went online. after some Googling, i stumbled on this post on Microsoft forum.
Although there were many solutions, it was the first answer that actually fixed my dongle.
Below are the step i took in fixing it.

  • Click Start, and then click Control Panel
  • Click Hardware and Sound, under Device and manager, click Device Manager
  • In Device Manager, click to expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers“, right-click on the USB having problem(normally having s yellow exclamation mark), click “Uninstall” and click “OK”.
  • Restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.
That was all i did, now I’m rocking my USB modem.
